My Story

Turning clinical expertise into real-world family support

Yma Orne Campbell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), parent educator, coach, and family advocate. She earned her Master of Arts in General Family Therapy from Northcentral University (now National University).

Yma began her career in child welfare with the South Carolina Department of Social Services, working closely with children and families in foster care and adoption. She continued that work with the North Carolina Department of Social Services, providing support in foster care, in-home services, adoption, and child protective investigations.

As the founder of Creative Place Parent Education and Coaching, Yma combines her clinical knowledge, child welfare experience, and practical family support skills to empower parents with the tools they need to navigate parenting with confidence. Her program focuses on strengthening parenting skills, improving communication, promoting healthy child development, supporting co-parenting relationships, and helping families create nurturing and stable home environments.

Known for her compassionate and supportive approach, Yma utilizes person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based principles in both her coaching and educational services. She believes that every parent has the capacity to grow, learn, and create positive change within their family.

My Approach

Grounded in evidence. Rooted in compassion.

Every service I offer is built on three core principles that guide how I show up for every family.

Person-Centered

Every parent is unique. I tailor my approach to your specific family, circumstances, and goals — not a one-size-fits-all script.

Trauma-Informed

I understand that life stressors, trauma, and complex histories shape families. My work is grounded in compassion and safety.

Strengths-Based

I believe every parent has the capacity to grow. We build on what you already do well and expand from there.
